It’s officially September and that means that the end of the summer is quickly approaching. Leaves are already beginning to fall, and the temperatures are going to follow soon. So now it’s time to get your house ready for the fall and winter. Before we get into the brunt of fall, make sure to clean your gutters so they don’t get clogged up and cause a problem down the line.

As we get into the later months, we start to see more rain and eventually snow. It’s crucial to make sure that your roof will be ready to handle the pressure of storms. Schedule a roofing professional to come out and inspect your roof before the weather turns.

Tree & Shrub Trim

Along the same lines, you can make sure that your roof is protected from any falling limbs by trimming up trees around your house. Trim anything that can pose a danger to your house if it’s taken by the wind.

While the weather may still be warm, the cold sneaks up quickly every fall. Before it arrives make sure that your house is protected by caulking and making sure any spots that need to be sealed up are taken care of.

Chimney Sweep

When the cold does come, it’ll be time for a fire. So, before you light the first one of the season, make sure that your chimney is ready. Give it a sweep and get ready to be cozy by it.

AC Tune-Up

Before you turn off your AC for the year, have a professional come out and give it a tune up. It’s likely been running since May, so you want to make sure to have it serviced before you turn it off.

Store Outdoor Accessories

Finally, it’s time to prep your outdoors for the winter. Store away all of the things you won’t need like outdoor furniture, so it doesn’t get ruined by the bad weather.
