Howard Hanna Real Estate Services has been a proud supporter of the Family House Polo Match for decades – and we are thrilled to share that we are a polo team sponsor again this year! After a hiatus in 2020, we cannot wait to get back to it and enjoy a day of fun while supporting a fantastic cause. Here are just a few reasons why you should join us on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Hartwood Acres.
1. Fun for the whole family!
The event gates open at 10am and the family fun starts at 11am. For attendees who love the design, simplicity, and uniqueness of classic cars – the vintage car display is right up your alley. Visit the Children’s Tent for a whole host of fun activities to keep the kiddos busy throughout the day – including a Meet & Greet with the Hounds of Sewickley Hunt at 2:30pm.
2. Food trucks & live music
Visit the Food Truck Garden near the Live Music stage to fill your belly with delicious food and your spirit with a song! There will be four food trucks available to satisfy your cravings throughout the day.
The Allegheny Brass Band will kick off the live musical performances on the Showmobile Stage in the morning – and join us to hear No Bad JuJu and Brownie Mary live on the stage at 3:30pm after the match. We’re proud to say that one of Howard Hanna’s own Sales Associates, Kelsey Friday, is a member of the band, Brownie Mary. We look forward to cheering her on from the crowd!
3. Silent auction & boutique shopping
The Sip & Shop Tent has everything that the avid shopper (not to mention wine and beer connoisseur) needs! Make sure to check out items from the silent auction including gift cards, a family portrait session in NYC, a week-long stay in the Outer Banks, and much more! Check back throughout the day to up the ante and make sure you’re the winner when the auction closes at 3pm. Be sure to visit the tent to shop boutique items and enjoy a wine and beer tasting throughout the day – you won’t regret the stop!
4. Polo match & traditions
We can’t forget the main event! The #1 Cochran Potomac Polo Club vs. the Howard Hanna Real Estate Services Foxlease Polo Club match begins at 1:30pm. As one of the world’s oldest known sports, this match offers an unusual alternative to traditional Pittsburgh sporting events. No black or gold on this field, but plenty of top-notch equines and athletes!
Enjoy everything this event has to offer, including fan favorites – classy outfits and hats, half-time divot stomping, and tout bets on your favorite team!
5. Supporting a great cause!
All funds raised through the event directly support the mission of Family House, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit, providing a “home away from home” for patients and their families who are in Pittsburgh seeking medical treatment. Howard Hanna is proud to support this organization each year as a sponsor of this signature fundraising event. With three homes in the Oakland and Shadyside areas – and plans to consolidate all operations into a single location at the site of the former Courtyard by Marriott in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood – Family House is a worthy cause lighting the way for patients and families in need of a friendly place to stay during a difficult time.
